Solar Eclipse

On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cross North America through Illinois and Indiana.  The area that will experience a total eclipse runs through Southern Illinois and Indiana and will last for over four minutes.

The next total eclipse will occur in the United States in 2044.  A total eclipse is when the sun is completely blocked, allowing you to see the stars.

All of our Sheridan Sharks have been learning about and preparing for this experience.  The district has provided all students with special solar glasses to view the eclipse safely, thus allowing all of our Sharks to be outside to view this special event.
