Yearbooks will be distributed during 7th hour on Monday, May 20th. Extra copies will be sold in the cafeteria immediately after school. There are only a limited number of extra copies and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost will be $20 payable by cash or check (made out to BJHS). Only one copy will be sold to a student.

Attention 8th Grade Students
The BHS Color Guard will be holding auditions for the 2024 fall season. Audition clinics will begin April 29 and are open to all 8th graders entering BHS! Color guard replaces your PE class for the first semester, and those selected to the squad will have the opportunity to travel to Universal Studios with the band in December. Stop by the BJHS band room to pick up a flyer with more details.

A message for 7th Grade Parents
There will be an informational meeting for the 2025 Washington D.C. trip tonight at 6PM in the cafeteria. This trip is ONLY for current 7th graders, not students who are signed up to go this summer! Mr. Neuman will be meeting with parents and families to explain how the trip works and to allow people to sign up in advance.
Students must attend the meeting with a parent or guardian.
This trip is a great way for students to end their junior high career and get a chance to travel and see the capitol of their country. Please email Mr. Neuman at neumane@district87.org if you have questions!

BJHS tryouts are April 22nd through the 24 th with open gyms on April 11th and 18th.

Crochet Club
Did you know the meditative and repetitive action of crocheting can help focus the mind and reduce anxiety? Join Stacey Evans and Nurse Carter on Thursdays from 3-4 beginning April 4th in IT1, Mr. Woodward's classroom for Crochet Club. One of the club's main goals is to create a safe and peaceful place where students feel calm and comfortable while learning a new skill. There is no cost involved and we will teach you everything you need to know. Parent's permission is required to attend. Please stop by the nurse's office for a permission form and return it by April 4th.
Student Council
Student Council members please be sure to check your google classroom in regard to information about an upcoming field trip/service project trip on Tuesday, April 23rd. Please stop by Mrs. Engst's office to pick up the required permission form that must be signed by your parent/guardian in order to attend.
Also please check the google classroom for the list of students who are assigned to volunteer at the Knight Kash store this Friday during your lunch period.

Let's Give a Shout Out To:
The BJHS Boys 7th grade boys basketball team defeated Kinglsey 38-29 in the IESA Regional semi-finals. In the Regional final against Evans, the team drilled a buzzer beater with no time on the clock to WIN 40-38 and advance to the IESA Sectional.
The team will play in Macomb on Monday, Jan. 29 against Pekin Edison.
