🎃📚 Spooktacular Learning at Sheridan Elementary! 🦉💀 1st graders at Sheridan teamed up with their 4th-grade partners for a bone-chilling project right on the eve of Halloween! 🌊🏊The Sheridan Swim School is now in session!🌊🏊 Some of our sharks have the opportunity to take to the water and learn to swim at the YMCA every Monday for the next 6 weeks. Thanks to the generous sponsorship from Sheridan School, all our swimming sharks have been provided with swimsuits, goggles, swim caps, and a handy bag to carry it all in! 🩱🥽🧢🎒 The looks of pure joy as the kiddos entered the water for their first lesson was priceless! 🏫🌈 Introducing the Zones of Regulation at Sheridan Elementary! Supporting Healthy Emotions and Behaviors! 📚✨ Sheridan is implementing the Zones of Regulation program this year, which helps students understand and manage their feelings and behaviors by categorizing them into four distinct "Zones". 🌟💙 Some of the zones include: 🔵 Blue (Slow) Zone: This is when your body is feeling sluggish, such as when you're tired, sick, sad, or bored. 🟢 Green (Go) Zone: The Go Zone is when you're ready to learn and fully engaged. It's a state of feeling happy, calm, and focused. All the Sheridan Sharks participate in a morning check-in, where they have the opportunity to identify the Zone they are in. It empowers them to better understand their emotions and helps teachers provide the support and guidance they need. 🌈💛 Check out Mrs. Floit's kindergarteners engaging in their morning check-in today.
