🎶🏆 Spotlight on BJHS' Music Prodigy: Meet James Ransom! 🏆🎶
Get inspired by BJHS's very own 8th grader and composer extraordinaire, James Ransom! This incredibly talented young musician has again clinched first place for the third consecutive year in Middle School Computer-Based Composition in the Illinois Music Education Association’s (ILMEA) student composition contest. 🎼 And that's not all - he also scored second place in the Arranging and Remix categories on his very first try! 🌟
James, whose musical composing journey started when he was just three (he also plays the piano and is a percussionist in the BJHS band), used his time at home during the pandemic as an opportunity to dive deeper into composing music. He is now preparing to release a new album and looking to ring in the New Year by releasing a spectacular 💯-track album! 🎉 Added bonus, James composed the music for the intro to D87’s podcast, if you’ve listened to our podcast, you already heard some of his music!
Outside of his music, James loves playing Minecraft and immersing himself in anything geography-related. He is truly an extraordinary young man who strongly believes in supporting small artists.
