They Did It Again!! The BJ boys 7th grade basketball team won again last night defeating Pekin Edison 37-26 in the IESA Sectional. With that win the team advances to the IESA State Finals this Saturday at Kingsley Jr. High.

Let's Give A Shout Out To Our 7th Grade Boy's Basketball Team!! The BJHS Boys 7th grade boys basketball team defeated Kinglsey 38-29 in the IESA Regional semi-finals. In the Regional final against Evans, the team drilled a buzzer beater with no time on the clock to WIN 40-38 and advance to the IESA Sectional. The team will play in Macomb on Monday, Jan. 29 against Pekin Edison.

We are happy to announce that in-person attendance will resume on Thursday, August 24th at BJHS. As you can imagine, this was incredibly frustrating for all of us as we wanted to begin school with no issues or hiccups. We want to thank our maintenance crew, our BJHS teachers/staff, and our parents and students for their patience and understanding as we dealt with this complex and frustrating situation. We encourage all students to dress in lightweight and loose-fitting clothing that allows for proper ventilation as the building is still cooling down. It's also essential for students to stay hydrated throughout the day. We have water-filling stations available, and we will be actively encouraging our students to drink plenty of liquids to stay well-hydrated. It is to be noted that the entire HVAC system at BJHS was updated over the summer, and we are simply waiting on back-ordered chillers ordered last October to finish the project. Our hope was that the older system would continue to function as it had through the summer until early fall when our new chillers arrive. Unfortunately, we were forced to pivot this week when the system went down. We again apologize for the inconvenience but are confident that the HVAC upgrades that have been completed at BJHS will help us avoid situations such as these in the future. Thank you for your patience and trust in us. We look forward to having your students back in a comfortable building tomorrow. Estamos muy felices de anunciar que la asistencia en persona se reanudará este jueves, 24 de agosto en BJHS Como se podrá imaginar, esta situación fue increíblemente frustrante para nosotros ya que deseábamos iniciar las clases sin ningún percance o problema. Queremos agradecer a nuestro equipo de mantenimiento, a nuestro personal y maestros de BJHS y a los padres y estudiantes por su paciencia y comprensión, mientras lidiamos con esta compleja y frustrante situación. Animamos a todos los estudiantes a usar ropa ligera y espaciosa, que permita la ventilación adecuada mientras el edificio termina de alcanzar la temperatura deseada. También es esencial que los estudiantes se mantengan hidratados a lo largo del día. Contamos con estaciones para que puedan llenar sus botellas de agua y están disponibles en todas las escuelas, y estaremos animando activamente a los estudiantes a beber bastantes líquidos para mantenerse hidratados. Es importante recalcar que la unidad de sistema de HVAC fue actualizada durante el verano, y solo estabamos en espera de algunos enfriadores que fueron ordenados el pasado mes de Octubre para dar por terminado el proyecto. Nuestra esperanza era que el sistema anterior continuará funcionando a lo largo del verano e inicios del otoño cuando nuestros enfriadores fueran entregados. Desafortunadamente nos vimos obligados a apagarlo cuando el sistema se descompuso. Una vez más nos disculpamos por el inconveniente pero estamos confiados en que las nuevas actualizaciones al sistema de HVCA de BJHS nos ayudará a evitar este tipo de situaciones en el futuro. Gracias por su paciencia y su confianza en nosotros. Estamos ansiosos de recibir a los estudiantes cómodamente en las instalaciones.
