👨‍🏫Mr. Wetzel's teaching career began at Potomac High School, but his heart found its home with us in D87!

For three decades, Mr. Wetzel's passion for teaching has helped enlighten the minds of 8th graders in social studies and, more recently, math. During his time at BJHS, Mr. Wetzel was one of 4 teachers who was instrumental in developing Tier II academic intervention at BJHS. Other career milestones include having had the honor of delivering graduation addresses at Potomac High (1993) and Armstrong High School (1995) and carrying on a tradition of groaner jokes at Outdoor Education. Speaking of outdoor ed, Mr. Wetzel has quite a few tales and lore to share about his escapades at camp! Other highlights of his at BJHS include candy bar concussions with Kate Coe, discussing zombie math lessons, and who else can claim a David Bowie makeover before taking a plunge at the MTSS dunk tank? Never a dull moment with Mr. Wetzel, that is for sure! Above all, Mr. Wetzel's favorite D87 chapter revolves around the relationships with students, colleagues, and staff.

👋 Farewell, For Now:

Mr. Wetzel will be missed at BJHS, but Sarah Raymond may be seeing more of him in a paraprofessional role!

Let's wish Mr. Bill Wetzel joy and success in all his future endeavors! Congratulations Bill on your retirement!
