Warmest Welcome to Peyton Metry! Peyton joins the Stevenson Tigers as an LBS1 teacher, ready to make a significant impact in the lives of our students. Peyton is an ISU graduate, and is returning to central Illinois from Austin, Texas, where she worked as a lead teacher for a specialized program. She has returned to the area to pursue her master's degree at ISU, and we're fortunate to have her expertise, passion, and dedication right here at Stevenson! Peyton's journey into special education was driven by her observations of how society often marginalizes individuals seen as "different" or "disabled." Motivated by a desire to foster an environment of acceptance and appreciation for unique abilities, Peyton is on a mission to shift perspectives from mere tolerance to embracing diversity. This academic year, Peyton is most excited about building connections with every student she meets and is ecstatic about becoming a part of the Stevenson family. Beyond the classroom, Peyton loves to read, explore the great outdoors, and travel to new places.🌟 Welcome to the D87 family, Peyton!
