At Washington School we believe in working together and learning for life. The Library Media Center is an integral part of the school and strives to empower students to become critical thinkers and lifelong readers and learners. We accomplish this by the following:

• Provide access to a variety of print and digital materials to develop and strengthen the love of reading for pleasure and information

• Offer a diverse dynamic current collection which incorporates student and staff recommendations   

• Collaborate with teachers and students to create learning experiences that meet and enhance curriculum standards

• Instruct students in the process of using and evaluating information to become ethical and efficient users of resources and information technology

• Assist staff with instruction and resources that reflect current information needs

• Evaluate trends in literature, technology and information literacy to best serve the needs of our students and staff
