🌟🌟Let's give a round of applause to Elizabeth Fox Anvick, the current president of the District 87 Board of Education, who has been proudly serving for the past 6 years. Elizabeth's motivation to join the Board of Education stemmed from her children starting their education journey in D87 schools. She wanted them to understand the importance of public education and the need to nurture it.
Education is deeply rooted in Elizabeth's family. Her wife is a teacher, her parents are retired teachers, her father-in-law is a retired principal, and her brother-in-law is a principal. Being a member of the School Board allows Elizabeth to give back to the public school system that played such a significant role in shaping her own life.
One of Mrs. Fox Anvick's favorite aspects of being a School Board member is collaborating with her fellow board members, district employees, and, most importantly, the students of D87! She appreciates the diversity within the district and the opportunity to witness it all in action. When it comes to what students should know about the Board of Education, Elizabeth emphasizes that their role is to employ the superintendent, who ensures that the board's established rules are followed and that funds are spent in the best interest of the students. The board works together to create a safe learning environment by establishing "house rules" within D87.
Outside of her important role on the board, Elizabeth works as a Technical Administrator in the Enterprise Technology Department at State Farm. In her rare moments of free time, she passionately supports all Illini sports (she bleeds Orange and Blue for U of I!). Women's soccer holds a special place in her heart. Additionally, she embraces and attends all the sports in which her children participate, from soccer to basketball to volleyball- you name it, they probably play it! And let's not forget about the delicious food that comes out of her kitchen – her talented wife is an exceptional cook and baker, and Elizabeth loves to be a taste tester!
Elizabeth Fox Anvick considers it an honor to serve the residents of District 87, and we are equally honored to have her dedicated leadership on the Board of Education. Thank you, Elizabeth, for everything you do!

🌟🌟 Demos un aplauso a Elizabeth Fox Anvick, la actual presidenta de la Junta de Educación del Distrito 87, quien ha estado sirviendo con orgullo durante los últimos 6 años. La motivación de Elizabeth para unirse a la Junta de Educación surgió cuando sus hijos comenzaron su trayectoria educativa en las escuelas del D87. Quería que comprendieran la importancia de la educación pública y la necesidad de fomentarla.
La educación está profundamente arraigada en la familia de Elizabeth. Su esposa es maestra, sus padres son maestros jubilados, su suegro es director jubilado y su cuñado es director. Ser miembro de la Junta Escolar le permite a Elizabeth retribuir al sistema de escuelas públicas que jugó un papel tan importante en la configuración de su propia vida.
Uno de los aspectos favoritos de la Sra. Fox Anvick de ser miembro de la Junta Escolar es colaborar con sus compañeros miembros de la junta, los empleados del distrito y, lo más importante, ¡los estudiantes del D87! Ella aprecia la diversidad dentro del distrito y la oportunidad de presenciarlo todo en acción. Cuando se trata de lo que los estudiantes deben saber sobre la Junta de Educación, Elizabeth enfatiza que su función es contratar al superintendente, quien garantiza que se sigan las reglas establecidas por la junta y que los fondos se gasten en el mejor interés de los estudiantes. La junta trabaja en conjunto para crear un ambiente de aprendizaje seguro estableciendo "reglas internas" dentro del D87.
Además de su importante papel en la junta, Elizabeth trabaja como administradora técnica en el Departamento de Tecnología Empresarial de State Farm. En sus raros momentos de tiempo libre, apoya apasionadamente todos los deportes de Illini (¡sangre naranja y azul por la U of I!). El fútbol femenino ocupa un lugar especial en su corazón. Además, abraza y asiste a todos los deportes en los que participan sus hijos, desde fútbol hasta baloncesto y voleibol; lo que sea, ¡ellos probablemente lo practiquen! Y no nos olvidemos de la deliciosa comida que sale de su cocina: su talentosa esposa es una cocinera y panadera excepcional, ¡y a Elizabeth le encanta saborear platillos!
