🔍Mrs. Phelps' Kindergarteners at Sheridan took advantage of this beautiful November weather and had an amazing time filled with fun and learning as they went on a shape hunt on the playground! 🎉🔎 Our Sharks searched for circles, triangles, and rectangles, then tallied up what they found 🟢🔺📊✍️. Mrs. Mroz's class 3rd-grade class at Sheridan had a surprise visit ( Mrs. Mroz was also surprised by the visit!) from Mrs. Mroz's friend, Zandra, from Sweden! 🎉 She visited the class and shared traditions from her homeland, Sweden, and her current home, Cape Town, South Africa. They learned and practiced the 6 steps of the writing process, practiced punctuation, tackled math word problems, learned about Veterans Day, and completed a STEM challenge building a parachute for a soldier drop, and writing thank you letters to our Veterans! 🎉 Our amazing varsity wrestlers at BHS recently went above and beyond to lend a helping hand to a retired D87 teacher. They visited her home and assisted with the challenging task of removing carpets. How amazing is it that head coach, Savion Haywood, and our wrestlers were more than happy to step up and make a positive impact in someone's life? This act of kindness truly showcases the character and compassion of our incredible school district! Principal Harr and Mrs. Floit received a wonderful surprise! A former Raymond Rookie, Jatoria (and her mom), stopped by Sheridan Elementary School for a visit 💙🏫. They remembered Mrs. Harr as the former Principal, and Mrs. Floit as a former Preschool teacher at Raymond in 2008, when Jatoria was a student there. Definitely a full-circle moment, and one that will always be remembered! After attending Sarah Raymond School, Jatoria attended Bent and Irving, then BJHS, and then graduated from BHS. She is currently enrolled at Heartland Community College, studying to become a nurse like her mom. #ComeGrowWithUs #WeAreD87 ¡La Directora Harr y la Sra Floit recibieron una maravillosa sorpresa!
