🏀🗓️ It's Attendance Madness at BJHS! 🗓️🏀 🎉 Through student surveys about tardiness and absenteeism, BJHS has implemented targeted supports that has sent attendance rates soaring! 📈 To celebrate the success every student participated in a shootout challenge during PE classes, 🏀 competing for the chance to win Golden Knight Kash and advance to the next round. All shootout winners moved on to play "Knock Out" during lunches today and the winners will have a showdown this Friday! 🎯 🍿🎥 Final Round Details: The finalists in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades will face off in a live competition streamed during Roundtable times, while their peers cheer them on with popcorn provided by their awesome PTO! 🍿📢 Stay tuned for Friday's finale! 🎉🏰 #BJHSAttendanceMadness #AttendanceMadness #WeAreD87

📚✨Irving School hosted its Book Fair, featuring a special collaboration with Illinois Art Station (IAS). Students and families created unique collages, guided by IAS Director Hannah Johnson. LBS1, or Learning Behavior Specialist, teachers focus on providing support to students, whether it's one-on-one or collaboratively within the classroom. 📚 Recently, Mrs. Adelman, a LBS1 teacher at Oakland, led a fantastic session with first graders, guiding them through two-digit math equations in small groups. The twist? Students could tackle the equations using any method they preferred! 🧮 The exercise got the Owls discussing and exploring various strategies, then sharing their insights.
