They put their fraction skills to the test, calculating the exact amount of material needed for each student to create a small wooden tree 🌲 as a holiday gift for their families. It's where Math meets Woodworking! 🛠️📚 The students measured, cut, and assembled these wooden trees with precision and care. After working on animal reports for the entire 2nd quarter, our 4th-grade Sheridan Sharks were excited to present their detailed research project of their animal to staff and their loved ones at the 2nd Annual Animal Symposium! It was ”sharktastic” to see the excitement and pride the students put into their projects. Sheridan definitely has some new animal experts in their 4th grade! 🎄🚂 All Aboard! The Polar Express made a stop at Sheridan, bringing a very special visitor for our kindergarten and 1st-grade Sharks - Santa himself! The conductor was there, punching tickets and leading the way to a room filled with holiday cheer and the man in red. But the festivities didn’t stop there! Sharks of all grade levels joined in for hot chocolate and cookie decorating with their partner classrooms. It was a day of holiday magic for the entire shark family. Officer Mac, School Resource Officer for D87 elementary schools, has been popping into classrooms and recently paid a visit to Mrs. Floit's kindergarten class at Sheridan. He read a book about police officers, answered questions from the Sharks, and even gave out some police stickers to all the kiddos! While showing the class his tools, Officer Mac emphasized that his most crucial tool is "using his words" and building relationships. The students absolutely love Officer Mac!
