1st graders at Sheridan teamed up with their 4th-grade partners for a bone-chilling project right on the eve of Halloween! Although unrelated to Halloween, it sure had all the makings of a "creepy" endeavor - dissecting owl pellets! 🧪🦴 Exploring the contents of these owl pellets complemented their unit on wild and endangered animals- it was truly a ghastly experience! 😱 Keep up the spooktacular work Sheridan Sharks! 👏🎉

🔥🚒 October is Fire Prevention Month 🚒🔥 and D87 had the incredible opportunity to spend a day with the City of Bloomington - Fire Department, witnessing firsthand the extraordinary work done by our local heroes. 💪🚒
The day kicked off with a thorough check of all the fire engines and radios, ensuring everything was in top-notch condition for any emergency. Soon after, a call for medical assistance came in, and Engine 1 and the ambulance swiftly responded, showing their expertise as both firefighters and paramedics. It was truly awe-inspiring to witness the grace and compassion with which they handled community members in need. Hats off to our firefighters - we are so fortunate to have the best right here in Bloomington! 👏🔥
But the day didn't stop there! A Hazmat training session on a railcar at the training facility and a visit to the airport fire station to see the specialized vehicles used for airport emergencies were on the agenda. And let's not forget the delicious lunch prepared by our amazing firemen - boy they can cook! 🍽️
Throughout the day, it was evident that being in the fire station felt like being part of a big family. Witnessing a day in the life of a Bloomington firefighter was truly remarkable. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Bloomington Fire Department for giving us this valuable opportunity and salute their commitment to our community's safety. 🚒❤️

🌊🏊The Sheridan Swim School is now in session!🌊🏊 Some of our sharks have the opportunity to take to the water and learn to swim at the YMCA every Monday for the next 6 weeks. Thanks to the generous sponsorship from Sheridan School, all our swimming sharks have been provided with swimsuits, goggles, swim caps, and a handy bag to carry it all in! 🩱🥽🧢🎒 The looks of pure joy as the kiddos entered the water for their first lesson was priceless!
